Surgery is not an option for everyone, affordability and fear may result in opting to take a softer approach when trying to regain a subtle more youthful appearance or just beautifying what already exists. Hyaluronic dermal fillers are a great minimal invasive way of adding volume to deep creases or enhancing natural contours of the face.
Dermal fillers are also able to fill fine lines, scars and most acne scarring. They also help add support to the skin. The longevity of the filler may vary depending on the strength of the filler being used and the area of the face that it is applied too. If the area of the face is incredibly mobile like the mouth, then the result will be around 4-6 months as opposed to a less active area like the cheeks, which may last 9, 12 or even 18 months.
Common areas treated with dermal fillers are:
- Peri oral lines around the mouth sometimes referred to as smokers lines
- Nasolabial folds ( the crease that descends from the nose to the corner of the mouth)
- Tear troughs to add volume to the hollowed area underneath the eye
- Lips to enhance size, define lip border or correct an existing asymmetry
- Volumising cheeks or softening sharpness of the cheek angle.\
- Adding volume to the buccal ( the hollowed area below the cheek bone)
- Nose refinement ( not equivalent to a nose rhinoplasty )
- Marionettes ( the deep creases that run from the corner of the mouth to the chin)
- Fine lines on the décolletage
- Rejuvenation of the hands.
- Softening the appearance of scarring and acne scars ( not ice pick acne scarring)
When considering dermal filler it is advisable to avoid medications including natural medications that are known to contribute to bruising; a few of these are listed below.
- Neurofen
- Fish Oils Or Omega 3 Usually Found In Most Multi Vitamins
- Capsicum
- Vitamin E
- Salmon
- Aspirin
- Green Tea
All of the above are generally great at helping keep your blood thin but try and avoid them 1-2 weeks prior to injecting. Obviously if any medication is a necessity for your wellbeing on a daily basis then continue to use.
Treatment cost is dependant on the extent being treated. Prices will be discussed during consultation
